I had some time recently to play with a new idea. Since I have been spending more (though hardly enough) time on keys and guitar, I wanted to compose a piece comprised of these elements. The guitars/bass, piano, synths and vocals are live/studio recordings. The drums are made up of programmed and (digitally) performed samples, using dynamic drummer tools in GarageBand.
The lyrics are from something I wrote as a sort of poem a number of years ago. The original content is here on this site in a post called “The Stars Behind the Stars“. The song does not contain the entire content of the poem, just some key phrases, re-organized to fit the musical composition.
